TREE TREATMENTS

CROWN LIFTING

This is removal of the lower branches from the main stem or branch system up to a specified height or line indicated, in particular if the branches are causing obstruction to buildings or vehicles or pedestrians.

CROWN REDUCTION

Will reduce the overall height and spread of the tree crown by a specified percentage, by shortening the branches to suitable growth points to maintain as far as possible the natural form and proportion of the species.

POLLARDING

This consists of removing all branches and limbs back to the main stem of the tree or back to previous pollard points. Only suitable for certain species of tree.

FORMATIVE PRUNING

Formative or corrective pruning is carried out to young trees of less than five metres in height with the objective to develop a tree into a well shaped and balanced specimen.

DEAD WOODING

The removal of dead branches or stems from the tree.

CROWN CLEANING

As above and also removing any crossed, abraded, damaged, diseased or dying branches or stems.

STRAIGHT OR CLEAR FELLING

The removal of trees as a single unit.

SECTIONAL FELLING

This is carried out when the tree can not be clear felled safely due to it@s proximity to buildings, roads, power lines or any other obstacle or hazard. The tree is usually cut into manageable sections and lowered with ropes.
